Are we Living in an information society?

When thinking about the world today, it is clear that we are living in a society that runs off of information and technology. With easy access to the internet, radio, and television the whole country can hear about a celebritys slip up just a few hours after the mistake. With applications such as twitter and facebook it seems everyone is in eachothers buisness and is in need of recieving information about peoples daily lifes.
